I already reinstalled the Acrobat Reader (which was not easy) but it simply doesn't start. Is it not free anymore????

What happens when you try to start the Acrobat Reader DC application? Do you get any error message? If yes, please share the screenshot of the same for a better understanding.

 

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is a freeware application. It is used to read, annotate, and fill and sign the PDF files. For more information please check the help page - https://helpx.adobe.com/reader/faq.html

 

Also make sure you have the latest version of the application installed. You may download the patch manually from the link - https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html and reboot the computer once and see if that helps.
