Cannot Download Acrobat Reader

Tried several times to download Adobe Acrobat Reader but it always fails telling me I already have a newer version installed.  This is incorrect, I do not have Adobe on my computer.  I used too. but when I refreshed my computer all my more modern apps were removed.  Looking at my 'uninstall a programme' file confirms I no longer have an Adobe programme. Help!!!

Hello Brian,

We're sorry for the trouble you had while downloading Adobe Reader, please reboot the machine once and then use Acrobat cleaner tool to remove any corrupt or conflicting installation or leftover installation files of Adobe Reader Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Reboot the machine and then download the Adobe Reader setup from ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/AcrobatDC/1900820081/

Download the setup file AcroRdrDC1900820081_en_US.exe

Once the setup is downloaded, right click on the setup and click on ‘properties’.

Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8/7 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.

Once this is done, restart the computer and locate Adobe Reader's icon. Right-click on it and choose, Run as Administrator.

Let us know how it goes and share your findings.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
