Cannot install Adobe reader, says never version already installed.

Hi

I seem to have a similar issue to many others that I was getting an unsuccessful update. I then removed the reader completely and attempted a fresh install. I now get that there is a newer version installed. I note the file name has 2019 in it, not sure if that is related.

I have removed completely, deleted the folder, used to the removal tool and still have the same result. I now do not have a PDF reader at all that I can use.

Any additional information would be appreciated.

Thanks

Alan

Hi Amish,

Yes tried the removal tool and fresh install with reboots. Deleted any left folders. Same result.

Sorry about your problem. Are on Windows or Mac?

Did you use the cleaner tool from here: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Please try to install Reader from: Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions and let us know how it goes.

If the above steps wont work, I will sync with you for some troubleshooting steps.

Thank you for your patience.

Hi Alan,

What is your OS? Please try reinstalling the relevant Windows update from:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/2999226/update-for-universal-c-runtime-in-windows

and then retry installation and then let us know.

Thanks,

Amish
