I get this error message all the time when trying to open PDF's. However if I email the PDF to other computers they open the the PDF no problem. I've installed and uninstalled the Acrobat Reader several times and the problem remains. I have read the forum posts and "work around it solutions", but I'm not adequately knowledgeable to do programming nor should I have to for this type of product. Is there a quick fix ? or should I just cancel my adobe account and go with a company that values it's customers and it readily available to chat and provide practical help for the very diverse customers it provides services to?

Set your file associations for .jpg files so they open in a program that opens .jpg files. Looks like somehow, Reader was set as the default for that file type.

Actually no, my previous reply was quite wrong. I assumed you were talking about PDF files because you said so. But the screen shot in your message very clearly shows that you are trying to open a JPEG with Acrobat Reader.

Acrobat Reader doesn't open JPEG files so stop doing that! Or, if you prefer, blame Adobe when you try to do something impossible. Your choice.

If it works ok on other computers the file is fine. Acrobat is fine too. The problem, as the message suggests, is likely to be that your email system breaks PDF. This is common. Try a different email system or send files another way (eg wetransfer.com)
