Hello,

I am a bit confuse what I have installed on my PC. When I open the acrobat reader (named in start menu), I can read in up opened window Adobe Acrobat Reader (not DC). But if I run uninstallation, it says Setup has detected acrobat reader and when I click on uninstalling second choice (choose the product to remove) Acrobat....it says: Setup could not find Adobe Acrobat on this machine. Can anybody explain me why Adobe is doing such a mess with naming? Sorry, it makes me confused.

Hi @Michael27911072o65l

Thank you for reporting this to us.

We are cross-checking and finding the root cause of this behavior. Usually, the cleaner tool gives a list of options to uninstall the application you wish to, for e.g., Acrobat or Acrobat Reader.

While investigating, you can try another method of removing the app from the Control panel if it's urgent. https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/problems-uninstalling-reader.html

Thanks,

Hi @Michael27911072o65l

Could you please confirm the Acrobat Cleaner installer? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit? Which one did you download?

Also, share the screenshot of the Acrobat Reader installed on your machine. Open Reader>help>About Acrobat Reader.

If you have a 32-bit installer, you need to download the 32-bit cleaner. Similarly, if you have a 64-bit Reader, download the 64-bit uninstaller for cleaner.

https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html

"This happens because Acrobat and Reader are delivered via a single installer for the 64-bit release; the Cleaner user interface only shows the ‘Acrobat’ string even when used with Reader. More info https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html

Even if it only shows Acrobat, Reader will be uninstalled [in the case of 64-bit] through the same method.
