Hello dear community.
I have the following problem with Adobe Reader. I would need a way to use a group policy in Adobe Reader to keep the option: Last used files generally set to 0 or disabled.
I don't know why, but when the last documents are displayed, there are severe performance problems.
Unfortunately, nothing has brought the desired success so far.
Version 2024.004.20220 64bit.
best regards

Hi @jana_4580,
Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!
If you are still looking for solutions, there could be two different approaches to fix this.
One would be to limit the number of documents shown in the recent list for Reader.
That could be done by going to the registry at: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\AVGeneral
and changing the value for the Dword iMaxMRUCntToBeStored to a lower value.
This will limit Reader to use minimal processing to display the files.
The other would be to completely disable the recent list.
Again, doable by going to the registry at: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\AVGeneral
You need to add Dword bFavoritesStripInRFL and change the value to 1.
Hope this helps.
Note: Please keep Reader closed while performing these activities.
