Error downloading Adobe documents

I keep getting this error when downloading Adobe documents from internet, such as credit card bills:

  1. RdrCEF.exe – Application Error

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application.

Hello Cheryll,

I am sorry for the trouble you had, have you tried opening a PDF file which is saved locally on the machine? Are you getting the same error while opening the PDF files saved locally or is it with the files which you are downloading from the  internet?

Repair Adobe Reader once and reboot the machine, to repair, go to help>repair installation files.

What is the dot version of Adobe Reader installed? To identify, refer to Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Which operating system/version are you on?

Make sure that you have all the updates of the  operating system installed.

You may remove Adobe Reader using Acrobat cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Reboot the machine and install Adobe Reader from Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Once Adobe Reader is installed, download the latest patch 19.008.20080 from help>check for updates and reboot the machine.
