Excel link won't open the document but download it instead

I have got couple of Excel links within the PDF and when i click on them they will open in excel but there is couple of users who cant open the links at all. When they click on the links excel documents is downloaded rather than opened. We are all using Acrobat Reader DC same version.

Hi Miland,

As explained above, that couple of users have been able to open the file but some of them are not been able open the file directly, However its downloading first.

So could you confirm the exact location of the file where you have saved this? Is it saved on any shared network and given Read-Only access?

If this is the case, and multiple users are trying to open the file at a time then it would not let everyone to open the file. You can send the links separately to those users.

Hi Akanchha,

It is saved to local C: drive. When i click on the link it opens straight away in Excel. My colleague next to me on the other hand when he clicks on the link it is saved to his local drive and then he has to open it from there.
