exe file is still running in task manager after closing the pdf in web

exe file is still running in task manager after closing the file, because of that not able to open another PDF file in browser.

Could you please share more details about the .exe you are referring to? Which web browser you are using to open pdf file- is it Internet Explorer?

Which operating system is installed on the machine?
