Fail to install Acrobat Reader 64 bit on my Windows 11 Pro 64 bit PC

New Here ,
Apr 08, 2025 Apr 08, 2025

I am using a Windows 11 Pro desktop and want to install Acrobat Reader 64 bit.  However, it always becomes Acrobat Reader 32 bit.

How can I fix the problem?  What have I done wrong?

Hello Benny!

I hope you are doing well, and we apologize for the trouble.

Do you get any error messages when you launch the app? Ensure your system meets the minimum requirements for Acrobat Reader 64-bit. Verify that your Windows 11 Pro is up to date. See this article to learn more about the system requirements: Adobe Acrobat system requirements, supported platforms

Download the 64-bit Installer Directly: Go to the Adobe Acrobat Reader 64-bit download page and download the installer directly. Right-click the downloaded installer and select Run as administrator to ensure it has the necessary permissions

If the issue persists, please use the Acrobat cleaner tool to remove the installed app, restart the machine, and install Acrobat.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

Thanks for your reply.

I tried it before raising the question.

You can see from the screen capture above, my PC meets the requirements of using Acrobat Reader 64 bits.  But somehow it keeps becoming 32 bits.

It is important for me to use 64 bits of Adobe Acrobat.  I really need help on resolving the problem.

Thanks,

Benny

Hello Benny!

Thank you for sharing additional information. Did you try downloading the 64-bit installer from the direct link? Do you get any error message when you install the app and launch it? Please ensure all the mandatory and optional updates for the operating system are installed. If you have the latest version of the OS, create a test user profile with full admin rights, and try installing the Acrobat Reader.

If the issue persists in the new user profile, please collect the machine logs and share them with us along with the dot version of the OS installed for further investigation.

Regards,

Anand Sri.
