There should be a faster way to change colors when highlighting text in a PDF. I highlight with 3 different colors and often use two different highlight colors in a paragraph: one color for the topic and another color for details. With Adobe Acrobat Reader, changing the highlight color involves clicking on a pail icon at the top of the page and then clicking on the color. There should be a faster way! For example, when text is highlighted in Kindle, a popup menu has options for different highlight colors. Please fix this in Adobe Acrobat Reader!

I completely agree. As a college student, I need to be able to effectively highlight my assigned readings. I normally highlight in blue key points / summaries of the article, highlight in yellow general important info, green or pink for new vocabulary terms /phrases / concepts etc. So, in essence, there needs to be a user-friendly way for us to quickly and effortlessly switch between 3-5 different highlight color options. Look at the highlight tool Drawboard PDF has in comparison.

There is! You can use this (paid-for) tool I've developed to quickly switch between a set of pre-defined (and custom) highlighting colors: http://try67.blogspot.com/2015/03/acrobatreader-quickly-switch-between.html
