I need my file to be 3mb or less. right now it's over 4,000kb. How do I resize it? Is that even an option?

Hello Sondrac,

As per the description above, you want to reduce the PDF file size from 4000KB(4MB) to 3MB, Is that correct?

If you have Adobe Acrobat Pro, there are two methods to reduce the size of a PDF file: File>Save As Other>Reduced Size PDF and File>Save As Other>Optimized PDF - if you only have Adobe Acrobat Standard, only the first one will be available. But this cannot be achieved using the free desktop version of Adobe Reader.

Also,  refer to the answer marked as correct in the following KB doc for more information How to reduce the size of PDF

Feel free to update this discussion in case you need further assistance.

Regards,

Anand Sri.

Some of the things that make it bigger are the size and quality of the images, whether fonts are embedded, interactivity, bookmarks, hidden information, metadata, and more.

Do you have the original file that you can use to make a new PDF with different settings?

Do you have only the free Adobe Acrobat Reader or do you have a paid version of Acrobat?
