Hi Guys,
I'm on a Windows 10 (updated, 64b) machine running Adobe Reader DC (18.011.20038). I opened a pdf that gave me the error msg can't find font 'SourceSansPro-Regular' and the pdf showed bullets instead of letters. I downloaded the font (otf) and using windows installed it, then, for shts & giggles, rebooted my machine. reopened the pdf and got the same error msg and bullets. How do I get the Adobe Reader to recognize the font?
Peace,
Glen

Sometimes it's not a mater of downloading a font of the same name, it has to be the same version and such.
With a font like that, the creator of the file should have embedded the font information. Maybe contact them and ask them to do that so you can view their pdf file?

I wish I could, but it's a downloaded academic paper, can't locate the
author and no help from the publisher...

Acrobat Reader is pretty picky about font information and not good at font substitution (which in many cases is a good thing). Maybe try a different pdf viewer to see if they can at least get a decent font substitute to show? Since you are on Windows 10, maybe try and open the pdf in Edge to see what happens.
