Once that is done, you may try uninstalling Reader using this cleaner tool: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html. Then, try reinstalling Reader and checking the issue.
If the issue persists, please help us with the logs. You may use the diagnostic utility from this help page: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-diagnostics.html. This tool will allow you to upload logs from your machine to our server directly and share the Unique log ID. Ensure Advance logging is checked.
