How to get the Highlighter feature to work again in Reader?

Then it's not real text, just an image. You can't use the Highlighter tool
on it. Use something else, like the Square tool.

Please let us know the Reader version you are using from: Help > About Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
Also, what is the error you are observing?

Not with the free Reader, no. You would need Acrobat to do it.

When you can't select text you can use one of the other markup tools.
