Hi everyone !

I'm on Mac.

I have a pdf file that contains hyperlinks toward local files.

It keeps in opening it with internet instead of the right application (here a mind map application).

Would you know how to set it up correctly ?

I'm sorry if my english is not perfect, it's not my first language and haven't praticed it for a while...

Thank you so much for your help !!

Hi @Laetitia285888887xzb,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with Acrobat Reader.

To answer your question, even if the files are stored in a local drive or the location is on a local disk, the location is linked to a hyperlink with the PDF, which automatically triggers the web browser window to open.

This is designed behavior, and the same would be reciprocated if you also open the file on a web browser.

Hope this clarifies your question.

Thank you for your reply. There is no way at all to change this "designed behavior" ?

Hi @Laetitia285888887xzb,

The part mentioned "designed behavior" is for a specific type of linking done on Acrobat.

You may refer to the screenshot for reference.

SS_0-1677595562454.png

If you use the option to open a file, clicking the link will automatically redirect you to the file. Depending on the file's content, you will also choose whether you want to open the file on the same window or a different window.

This depends on how the document is created.

You may learn more from Links and attachments in PDFs, and Adobe Acrobat.

Hope this helps.
