how to stop document from being saved when opening

When I want to open a document in Acrobat reader the document gets saved automatically. I just want to read the document. I have deleted Reader & re-installed & same thing happens.

HOW DO I STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING??

It's impossible to view a PDF document without it first being saved on the local machine.

Maybe what you mean is that you don't want to explicitly save it, but have it be saved as a temporary file, and then displayed to you. If so, that depends on the settings of the browser you're using to open the link to the PDF file.
