In Reader DC 17.012.20098, if I click inside a word and drag the selection cursor into another word, the program selects the whole of both words. I want the program to select only the characters that I asked it to select.

How can I disable whole-word selection?

I don't think you can. There are some workarounds, though:

- After the whole word is selected move the mouse backwards (to the left) and it will select one letter at a time.

- Use the arrow keys while holding down Shift to select letter-by-letter. If you also hold down Ctrl it will switch to word-by-word selection.
