I installed Adobe Acrobat Export PDF and Reader wants me to try Pro

I have been using Acrobat Reader for a long time. Today, I paid for and used Adobe Acrobat Export PDF. Now when I try to use Acrobat to read a PDF, I get a window "Start your free trial of Adobe Acrobat."  If I don't select Buy Now or Start free trail, Acrobat reader closes. When I tried to cancel Export PDF, it said that my Adobe Portfolio would be deactivated. I have a paid subscription to the Photography plan (20GB) which includes Portfolio.

What is going on? I just want to read PDFs without affecting my Photography Plan functionality, including Portfolio. I can do without Export to PDF.

Hello Alan!

I hope you're doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response and the trouble.

The Adobe ID (email) you used to sign in to the community is associated with Adobe Acrobat Export PDF services. This is an Acrobat online service. With it, you can easily convert PDF files into editable Word, Excel, or RTF (Rich Text Format) documents.

You cannot edit PDFs with Adobe Acrobat Export PDF. You need Acrobat to edit PDFs.

To access the services, you can use Acrobat Online or install the free Acrobat Reader Desktop app. However, if you install Acrobat and attempt to use paid features like PDF editing, you may see a prompt to upgrade. If Acrobat is already installed on your machine, consider uninstalling it and installing Acrobat Reader to use the Export PDF services.
