Hello,

A problem has kept me upset for a good while.

I work on a Windows 10 PC (64bits). Each time I open a document which I only need to view or print (not modify), I can't close it without having to go to the process of recording it again and having to confirm that I want to replace the document.. which is identical !

How to avoid this ?

Thank you for your answer.

You can't avoid this. Acrobat Reader repairs the document and will save the changes.

Hello Bernd,

I'm quite disappointed with your answer : first, because I can't see why there should be repairs and my documents don't need a repair ; second, because I'm not certain you read my message correctly as I said I just read (not modified) my documents.

Thank you anyway.

Most of them are scanned official documents I received. I don't know how to create a PDF.

happy you are sure they don't need repair. But how are you sure? you can test if they need repair. Open. Close. Prompt to save? Two possibilities. 1. Needed repair. 2. changed by embedded JavaScript.

save with new name. Open again. No prompt? Repaired good. Prompt? Must be JavaScript.

So you may be receiving damaged documents. You have no way to know, but the evidence is strong.
