installing Reader crashes on thread 16. Mac os 10.10.5; safari 10.1.1

Trying to install Adobe Reader.  Installer file downloads OK, but then crashes on thread 16 during the instal.  Been days trying to resolve.  Problem is not my machine as I've been working with Apple for two days.  OS is 10.10.5; safari is 10.1.1.

I'm sorry, was that a response to my question?  If so, it's not correct.  I've tried the tips, directions, links---all of that---several times; many times over.  Installer downloads but crashes on actual install attempt.  Crashes at thread 16 every time.  Is there any way to attach a report of the crash to a message?  I have a copy that gives all the details, but can't find anyone who can or will read it.  Is there a staff person out there who can look at the problem?
