That doesn't normally happens. Maybe you (or someone else) created a folder-level script that does that intentionally...

Look in the following folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader DC\Reader\Javascripts\ and check if there are any .js files there.

If there are, open them in a plain-text editor (like Notepad) and look for something like this:

console.show();

If you see this command, add "//" before it (without the quotes), save the file and close it.

It should stop the console from opening in the future.

Thank you for replying but nothing has worked so far, I have the problem on my Windows 7 64 bit desktop, my Windows 8.1 desktop and on my Windows 8 laptop, I have uninstalled many times and reinstalled so at this point it looks like I will have to do a full recovery on all my computers.

Hi Emma,

In that case, what I would suggest is use Cleaner Tool: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs uninstall Reader form your machine, restart it and install Reader again.

Use this link to download the Reader installer: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Did you check for .js files as suggested? Uninstalling will not remove them.

Hi

In addition to what try67 has mentioned. You may check the preference.

Launch Reader>Edit>Preferences> JavaScript, check this is checked "Show console on errors and messages."

Let us know if that helps.

Thank you for replying, tried both suggestions but it still does not work properly, uninstalled it and reinstalled but still have the same problem with it, it had been working great for years but now I have this problem on both a Windows 7 64 bit desktop and on my Windows 8.1 64 bit desktop and a Windows 8 laptop.

At this point I am considering doing a full restore on all my computers.
