Anyone have a solution to Adobe acrobat reader DC not opening pdf files, or even opening after the latest Windows 10 update?
I needed the adobe cleaner to uninstall, but when reinstalled it still will not open

Hi Tomg,
Could you confirm the exact version of Adobe Reader installed on your computer after re-installation? Check Acrobat>Help>About Adobe
Adobe Acrobat and Reader official update containing the fix for this issue is now available. This update will be automatically pushed to all existing installations of Acrobat and Reader. If you want, you may also manually trigger the update by opening the application and going to Help > Check for Updates.
More information about this release is here: Acrobat Help | Release notes | Acrobat DC and Acrobat Reader DC | Update

first I tried uninstalling from the control panel option but got an error that the path was not accessible. I then used the adobe cleaner to unistall next i installed the current version from Adobe .com. uninstalled it and I just tried to install 2018.009.20044 form Adobe .com again using a different browser. I still have the issue. That is the application will not launch. I've tried changing the compatibility mode via the start menu icon and desktop shortcut.
when i double click on an icon or when i right click then click open or run the hard drive spins for a few seconds but nothing is displayed on the screen, task manager shows adobe acrobat update service as background process.

Hi Tomg,
2018.009.20044 isn't the most updated version. Try installing the update manually through- Acrobat Help | Release notes | Acrobat DC and Acrobat Reader DC | Update
The computer on which you are working on, is that a work computer? Can you create the Hidden Administrator account and check whether application is opening in that or not?

Are you using Google Chrome? If so, Chrome will not open PDF documents.
