Lost edits in Acrobat Reader. Is there a backup file?

I spent the last three hours proofreading a PDF and commenting via Acrobat Reader DC. It was accidentally closed and it seems I have lost all my comments. Is there a backup copy somewhere?

Hey there!

Sorry to hear about your loss.

If application get closed abruptly, then upon restart it gives "recover pdf" option. Did you missed that?

  • The file you have been working on, if that file is saved on "Document Cloud" or on some other online storage, then there's a possibility to get those changes recovered.  https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/home/
  • You can look for the file in Temp folder through its name and time of stamp. But its quite difficult to locate the exact file in Temp, because there must be lots of files already loaded.

You can give a try, else its quite impossible to bring it back.

Thanks,

Akanchha
