Lost scan feature in Windows 7

Utill a recent update I was able to scan docs into Adobe.  Now that feature is gone.  How do I get it back without paying $6.00 a month for something I only use rarely?

That depends. How did you have it before. The free Adobe Acrobat Reader doesn't give you that option although it may be used to open the pdf after the scan. So, you either had scanning software that offered that as an option to save your scans or you had Adobe Acrobat (full version).
