I have a MacBook Pro and have been using abode reader for a while now. But recently whenever I open up adobe reader it starts to overheat my machine and the exhaust starts like crazy. I think it might be related to an update it had recently.

Hi Jorge

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble.

Would you mind sharing the version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC you are using? To check the version go to help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version 21.07.20099 installed. Go to Help . Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and check again.

Also go to Acrobat Reader > Preferences > Page Display > Under rendering , uncheck 'Use page cache' > Click OK and reboot the computer once.

Regards

Amal
