Memory leak in ActiveX-plugin (15.23.20053.211670)

New Here ,

We have been trying to embed pdf-reader into Chrome, Edge and IE - and have noticed a problem with the ActiveX-plugin (15.23.20053.211670) and IE11 (is at least happening on windows 10).

The ActiveX-plugin (and/or Adobe Acrobat DC) is not getting closed from IE, when src-adress is changed on an iFrame. This leads to alot of processes named "Adobe RdrCEF" in the taskmanager. Processes are keeping getting spawn'ed until a warning appears with the warning "too many open documents".

A reload of the page causes a huge delay and after the delay the processes disappear.

Issue can be reproduced by having a simple html file with an iframe and change the src on the iFrame with a JavaScript without reloading the webpage.

Please let me know if you know any fixes for this behavior.

Kind Regards

Asger Stig Holten

Hi amigasger,

Adobe recently released updates for Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and Adobe Acrobat DC. Please refer release notes posted at Release Notes | Adobe Acrobat, Reader .

Could you please update your Reader application and try the workflow?

[Steps - Launch Reader > Go to 'Help' menu > Check for Updates > Download and Install update.]

Please share your observations with the latest update.

Thanks,
