Hi,

I have a MacBook Air and need to open a document that apparently requires PDF reader but when I open it it says "The document you are trying to load requires Adobe Reader 8 or higher.  You may not have the Adobe reader installed or your viewing environment may not be properly configured to use Adobe reader.

I downloaded Adobe for Mac and then I go to installation process.  I go through the important information, click continue, then it says Installation Standard on Macintosh HD, I click install, then it says installation was successful, that it was installed, but I don't know where to go from there as I still cannot open my document.  I tried restarting and spent a lot of time with Apple to resolve this but they eventually suggested I try to go through Adobe so here I am.

Thanks for your help, it will be very much appreciated.

It sounds as though you are trying to open a pdf by clicking a link in a web browser. Is that correct?

If so, your browser may not be compatible with Adobe Reader (many browsers use their own pdf viewers now). You can right-click (or the equivalent of that on a Mac), choose to save it to your computer then open it Usinf File>Open from witin Adobe Acrobat Reader.
