New computer - can't authorize using Adobe ID

I recently replaced my computer and can no longer download my eBooks to my Nook glowlight via Adobe Reader.

I've downloaded the most recent version of Adobe and changed my password.

Other discussions state to resolve this issue, all we have to do is authorize our computer by logging in... However, when attempting to log in to Adobe Digital Editions, I get the following error message:

"You can only authorize this computer with an Adobe ID that hasn't been previously used to authorize any other computer or mobile devices.  Please try again."

HOW are we supposed to do this?!?

NOT helpful!

After reading through your help and support articles, I sat on your chat forum for almost 30 minutes and they already sent me to your forums.

I posted a question (above) and am still waiting for an answer to resolve this problem from you.

Please do not send me anymore generic links, as if I have not already invested an hour of my time to fix my own problem.

I am in the forum that your Adobe Chat agent sent to me.  Do you have the link that you feel would be more helpful?

There are numerous posts in the Adobe Digital Editions forum with the same issue and no responses with answers - many are over 3 months old.

I have tried the steps in this forum post, but continue to get the same error message:

"You can only authroize this computer with an Adobe ID that hasn't been previously used to authorize any other computer or mobile devices.  Please try again."

Authorization of PC with Adobe ID?

I also am not allowed to set up a *new ID* for some reason.  Suggestions?

I suggest you post your concerns in the correct forum. All the forums are replied by volunteers, and we're experts on one product only. We have no clue about Digital Editions. Good luck!

Hi, I know this is a very late reply, but I've just started using Digital Editions and had the same problem. But I was able to fix it! I thought I had to remove authorization from my tablet to get authorization to work on my computer, but that didn't work.

What I actually had to do was select "Erase Authorization" for my computer (the device that was giving me the error). Even though I had re-downloaded Digital Editions on my computer, it must have retained an anonymous attempt at authorization (which was a whole other issue--I had to create a new account in order to get an Adobe ID since my current one didn't have one) and the error message should have told me that the current device could not have multiple authorizations. That shows how frustrating it can be when the error message is inaccurate and misleading..You should be able to read your ebook on multiple devices. It's what it says right above the error message.

Hi, Hope this will resolve your problem:

Open the Adobe Digital Editions. After this, deauthorize the Adobe Digital Editions. then choose Help > Authorize Adobe Digital Editions.
