Previously when I opened Adobe on my computer, there was a sign in spot on the upper right hand corner. The background was a light tan color as well. Now, my background is a dark gray and there is no sign in spot. Now the sign in area says Comment, Fill & Sign, and More Tools. All online searches tell me to sign in, but I cannot find anything that shows how to sign in to account with new layout. I would like to sign in so I can convert PDF to Word. I paid for a subscription so I can do this and I am not able to without a sign in spot. Thank you!

Hi daniellew,

As mentioned you are unable to sign into the application, could you try following steps:

1- Download and run cleaner tool on the machine to uninstall Reader Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

2- Reboot the machine

3- Download and install Reader from here: Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions

4- Reboot the machine again and check.

Also, to change the theme, try the steps given in the following forum thread and check :

Let us know if you need any help.

Hello,

The problem is that the application for just the computer does not have a sign in spot anymore. Anywhere. I uninstalled the program and re-downloaded it. The problem remained. I believe it is an updated application/program now. It seems the only way to sign in now is online. Which does not follow any of the FAQs that are listed online because it goes off the old application where you could sign in through the program on the computer.

Additionally, the “talk to a person” option on the website is a lie. I called and was placed on hold for over 20 minutes and had to hang up.

Thank you,

Danielle Williams, LLP

Hi Danielle,

Could you try launching reader as an administrator using the steps given in this link and check if that helps:Run an Adobe program as administrator | Windows 7, Vista

Also,  If it's an installation done by your IT department, try consulting them and see what they have to suggest.

You may also refer to the following forum thread discussing the similar issue:

Sign option is missing from my Adobe Reader X (10.1.3)

Thanks,
