no text is there

New to Adobe Reader and trying to help my son with his homework.  His teacher said to open the saved downloaded book in Adobe Reader. When you click on it to view it there is no text on any of the pages- it's all blank.  You can see the page numbers changing as you scroll down though.  Thoughts???

Please try to repair the Adobe Reader. Launch the application and go to Help menu>Repair Installation.

Check if this issue occurs with other PDFs as well. Try to open other PDFs in the application.

Also, make sure that the application is updated to the latest patch released. Go to Help menu  >Check for updates.

What is the dot version of Adobe Reader installed on your system? To check that, go to Help menu> About Adobe Reader.
