Hi har52513472,

As you experiencing a problem with PDF preview handler, please let us know the application you are using to view the PDF.

Hello, I am having the same problem with Windows 10, 64-bit. With Windows 7 no problem. In Outlook 2007 I cannot preview pdf's attached to the e-mails. Also in Internet explorer happens the same even I have active the preview panel.

I have installed the Adobe Reader DC, version 2017.009.20044 and Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.

I have tried the solution suggested above MS Outlook - Problem with Adobe PDF Preview Handler (Review and Comment)

but it did not work.

The solution: Outlook stops preview when the temporary file folder is

reached.

Empty the folder and it will go back to work.

Good luck

For me it's in this location:

C: \ Users \ name of user \ AppData \ Local \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Temporary Internet Files \ Content.Outlook \ 69FNNYG1

Do not forget to unhide folders and replace your username

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. No, I still cannot preview pdf files. Not in Outlook and not in Windows Explorer. Other formats, no problem.

I have installed Adobe Reader DC and Adobe Acrobat 9. I have Windows 10, 64 bit and Office 2007. In other PC with Windows 7, no problem even with same software installed.

Anyone fix this yet? I have been trying to fix this for 3 weeks now. We have thousands of machines in our org. with this issue. Adobe can you provide a valid fix?? It works fine if we try different PDF applications such as Fox IT

Hi regar brians

Could you please check if PDF preview is enabled under Reader's preferences- launch Reader > click Edit > Preferences > General > check the box next to "Enable PDF thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer" > click OK and try again.

Make Adobe Reader DC as a default PDF viewer for PDF files using the steps given in the links below:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/18539/windows-7-change-default-programs

Associate PDF files to always open in Acrobat or Reader on Windows 10

Also, enable PDF Preview handler in Outlook if you haven't already following the steps given here: Preview Handler Error in Outlook 2013

Reboot the machine and check.

Thanks,

Shivam

Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options - Connections tab - LAN settings - Uncheck "Automatically detect settings"

Close IE, close outlook and go back into outlook.

I don't know why this works.
