Page Number doesn't go to entered page number

Suppose I want to go to page 500 on my pdf of 912 pages. So I enter "500" in the page number field on the right panel of the window, but then I'm taken to page number 534. Everytime I enter a page number I wish to go to, the page number which 34 pages after my desired page number appears. Is there any setting that I can change for this? As this is very annoying and making browsing pdf files very frustrating.

This means the page numbers and page labels in this file don't match. Reader uses the former, I believe.

There's nothing you can do about that in Reader. You can report this issue to the author of the file and ask them to change it and send you a new version. It should not happen with all files, though.

You are correct for most part, but this issue was not there in the earlier version of Adobe Reader, the one where page number field was on the top panel. There I believe both the page numbers and page labels were mentioned next to each other, so one could navigate according to whatever (label/number) was enterable by the user.

Yes, but now navigating has become difficult because of this. The newer version is great, I like it a lot! But this one aspect is not upto the mark. What can we do about this? How do we let the Adobe team know that this needs to be like the older version?

Hi @TheReader2727

I hope you're doing well. Thank you for reaching out with your issue.

I tried to reproduce the issue on my end with the new Acrobat experience, and it's working just fine. Let's work together to get your Acrobat experience back on track.

First, please ensure you have the most recent version, 23.06.20320. You can check for updates by going to Help > Check for updates. If there's an update available, make sure to install it. After updating, don't forget to reboot your computer.

You may also download the patch manually from the link https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html

If updating doesn't resolve the issue, you can repair the installation. However, please note that this option is available for Windows only. You can find it in the Help menu.

If the problem persists, resetting Acrobat preferences might help. Here's a helpful guide on how to do that: How to Reset Acrobat Preference Settings to Default.

Please follow these steps, and if you continue to experience issues or have any other questions, feel free to reach out. We're here to assist you in resolving this matter and ensuring your Acrobat experience is as smooth as possible.

Regards,

Amal
