Pages become blank, work lost Acrobat DC

We're having a problem in our Server 2012 environment with viewing Adobe files on a network share.

The problem is that when you have one or more PDF files open from a networkshare between 1-2 hours for editing, the pages becomes blank and you get the following error

"There was an error processing a page. There was a problem reading this document (109)."

After this your work is lost and Adobe may or may not crash out.

We've change the GPO refresh rate and turned the SMB version down to 1.0 based on other posts with this issue but nothing has helped.  My client is getting understandably frustrated with this constant issue.  I've seen a number of posts about this that all get resolved behind the scenes with adobe tech support and the fix is never posted on the forums.  Any help that you can offer would be appreciated.

As a note, we were on Acrobat 11 when the issue first began occurring.  We upgraded to DC in the hopes that it would resolve the issue.
