Ok, now that we have established one needs to enter their password to change the password they have forgotten thereby creating an impossible situation, does anyone have ANY advice about what to do if one must e-sign a document but can't because of the password issue??? I've tried customer "service" at ADOBE and they can't help. This is truly a Catch-22 situation.
Does anyone have a solution? Would uninstalling and reinstalling Reader work? I've heard it would and wouldn't.
Anyway, I'm stuck with having a time-sensitive document I must e-sign but can't.
Can anyone help? Thanks. J

I mentioned this in the other thread you asked in. You need to get a new digital signature. Reinstalling Reader (or anything else) won't work.

Sure.
You need to create a new signature. That is done in Edit>Preferences>Signatures.
