I cannot get pdf to allow 2 or more pdf documents on the screen at the same. If I have one on the screen and try to add another, the second replaces the first one. I've tried a few different things under preferences, but I don't really know what I'm looking for. Help. Thanks.
Do you mean it says Preview instead of Acrobat at the left of the menu? If so that’s nothing to do with Acrobat at all.

On Mac Acrobat 9 resize the Acrobat window to show the others. If there is a Window menu also try Tile options.

I am not good on Acrobat other than just using it. So, when you say resize the window, that I understand but it makes no difference. Where do I find and use the Tile option. I looked in the drop down menus but found nothing that says Tile. Thank you for your help so far.

Look in the menu called Window. On the top menu bar. Might be Cascade instead of Tile. Explore. This has worked for many people.

I tried both of these - tile and cascade - and that did not fix the issue. It just keeps replacing the pdfs over the previous pdfs. Grrrr.

just a minute... you have Acrobat Reader 9? On High Sierra? Far too old! Upgrade Reader.

I've upgraded to Acrobat Preview 10.0. I'm still only able to get one pdf at a time, with the second one replacing the first. I've looked through preferences and can't find any way to change things. Hmmm.

What has happened is that both Apple and Adobe updated their pdf programs. Now, neither of them will create 2 document windows to be on the desktop at the same time. At least that is what I have discovered so far. Is it possible, now that I have updated to Adobe Reader 2018, that I'm wrong? Also, by your reply I learned that Apple makes their Preview the default pdf reader. Thank you for your help and persistence to my issue.
