pdf shows random characters

only on one computer, it has windows 7 and adobe reader 2018.009.20044

the document opens fine on my pc with same reader version but windows 10

I have tried:

- changing the "use local fonts" setting

- complete reinstall

- resetting font settings (in case of corrupt font)

might be worth mentioning that when he got the email attachment and sent it to me it looked normal again.

I could see that letters had changed consistently:

L->K

e->d

S->R

6761712-->95650601

any ideas of what could be the reason/fix for this?

Hi,

Adobe Acrobat and Reader official update containing the fix for this issue is now available. This update will be automatically pushed to all existing installations of Acrobat and Reader. If you want, you may also manually trigger the update by opening the application and going to Help > Check for Updates.
