I'm facing problems with the Adobe Reader DC, as sometimes when I print a single page from a multiple pages PDF, I print it as Microsoft print to PDF. then it should be ok

but in some cases, the file size will be increased and I cant select the text within that PDF file (which I printed as PDF).

when I uninstall and reinstall the reader, its OK or there is no solution.

can you please help me in this case?

thanks,

Hanif.

Hi Afridi,

Sorry for the delay in response.

As you have mentioned above, select text option does not work when you use Print to PDF to create a PDF file and open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

You have also mentioned that this happens to the PDF which is an image file or a scanned copy. Am I correct?

If the files are the Image or scan copy, you will not be able to select the text in the PDF.

As of the selection tool, it will select the part of that image file, not the text.

As you said " it freez

Print PDF to PDF is always considered a bad idea. Sometimes the file is smaller, sometimes larger. Often, quality is lost. Always, bookmarks, links and other interactivity are lost. Just do not do this. If you want to extract pages you can buy Acrobat.

dear MVP,

thank you for your kind reply, but since we have the limited licenses for ADOBE, some other users are still using the Reader DC and always it is fine but in some reasons the problem occurs then we (IT) uninstall the reader and reinstall it. the problem solves.

actually the problem is the file size only increases if the printed file is image or showing as a scan copy.... while normally we are able to select the text from the printed pdf file.

As you said " it freezes the text while the cursor is showing", it would be helpful if you can share the screenshot of the same.

To add the screenshot here, please use the insert icon provided in the reply window as shown below:

Capture screenshot.PNG

Once you click on this icon, you get a small window.

Click on Insert Image and then browse the location where you have saved the screenshot file.

Select the file and click on Open > Insert Image.

Also, if possible share some files on which you experience this issue.

You can share files using the steps mentioned here How to share a file using Adobe Document Cloud

Let us know if you have any question or need any help.

Regards,

Meenakshi
