Print 1099 fill in answers

I've tried to print some financial information from a brokerage house: A 1099. The information appears on the form in the
Reader but when I print, only the basic category information prints. How do I get the detail to print?

I'm using an HP OfficeJet 4650 wireless printer (all in one) in Windows 10.

I can't really do that. This is private financial information including account numbers. There has to be a simple solution to my problem but I haven't been able to find it.

It's possible the information is located in non-printable fields. Without seeing the file it's hard to say for sure.

  1. The brokerage firm could make the entire form non-printable, but they didn't because parts of it print (this doesn't make sense.)
  2. They might have made fields non-printing. To see this, you would need the paid version of Acrobat, plus they would have to have it not locked down for editing (a 1099 is probably locked).
  3. If they put in information as comments, you can choose to print or not print comments in the Print dialog box. So confirm it says "Document" in the upper right. (This doesn't make sense either, but worth checking.)

Did you download the 1099 or are you viewing it through a browser?

You might need to go back to the brokerage firm and tell them. It could be a mistake on their part and they need to reissue the 1099. You need that 1099 to do your taxes. You can always ask for one by snail mail.
