Problem creating a link to a page in the same pdf

I have a problem creating a link to a page in the same document. After selecting 'Go to a page view' in theCreate link dialog box, the window in which I used to select the page number and view magnification doesn't open. Instead a pop-up appears, telling me to use the scrollbars, mouse and zoom tools to select the target view.

At first sight this seems to have the same effect, but it misses the option to set the magnification to 'variable', which is essential in my case.
