Hello, we`re using the Adobe Reader DC AddOn for Internetexplorer. After Windows 10 Update 2004 (May release) we can`t use the print funtion anymore.

Need help to fix the problem. Our software also use the AddOn for displaying PDF documents.

Hi All,

The fix in February release was only Consumer specific; and we'll be shipping the fix for both Classic tracks in the upcoming May Feature release in a few days.

The same will be now working on all tracks available; on Windows 10 OS version 2004/20H2.

Hi There,

Thanks for reporting the issue.

We tried the same workflow, and were able to print without any issue from IE using the AddOn.

Please can you help us with below details regarding the issue :

  1. PDF file trued to be printed; is online or a local PDF file
  2. If possible can you share the URL; if the same issue is observed for a set of file(s) only.
  3. Adobe Reader's version
  4. Are you able to print without using the Adobe Reader AddOn print; instead using the default windows print menu. Is there an issue with that too?

I am having the same problem.

After updating to 2004 I have multiple users that are unable to print PDF's from inside a web frame/Browser. If they save the same PDF to the desktop they are able to print it.

We are having the exact same issue. Anyone that has updated to the Windows 10 feature update 2004 can no longer print PDFs from the plugin. This is from a browser or software that uses it. You click on the print button and nothing happens. You need to save the PDF and then open in order to print. This is across multiple Windows 10 featuer update 2004 PCs so it is not isolated.

We are having the same issue here. We have Adobe Reader DC installed and we have an application that uses the Adobe plugin in IE and nothing happens when you click the print button within the plugin.

Is there a timeline as to when this could be fixed? This is causing problems for us in 2 other applications.

Thanks,

Hi,

are you sure that you cannot reproduce this "error" with Windows 10 Update 2004 from 28th of May? Seems that many others have the same issue using the print function.

I also tried with another PDF Viewer and it worked perfectly.

I think it doesn`t matter if you print a local or an online PDF document. In my case I tried to print a local PDF document.

Maybe microsoft fixed/blocked something with this update regarding active x printing!?

I'm experiencing same issue.
I need to save the file, open it with the Adobe Reader and then I can print the document. This is not ideal, but works.
I also use the library AcroPDFLib.dll for a Framework program that uses the .COM component, and there is also not possible to print. I've tried to open de document Properties, but this function is also unavailable.

I'm using the latest version of Windows 10, the 2004 version.

We have a user with a brand new Win 10 fully upgraded to 2004 and a new installed Adobe Reader DC that can't print with the plugin. Filemaker uses the plugin to show and print PDF but now we have to export and open the file directly in Adobe Reader DC to be able print it, the print dialog from the plugin never shows. Which is a pain for this user that print a lot of PDF daily. It is working fine for other users on Windows 10 1909.

What plug-in are you referring to? Adobe Reader doesn't supply any plug-in for FileMaker. Is FileMaker trying to create PDF and then show it in a browser which has a plug-in? If so, what browser?

Sorry, I should have been more clear. Filemaker uses Internet Explorer on Windows (Not sure on OS X ) with whatever IE plugin/addon uses as default to open and show PDF inside the application. So the problem is with Internet Explorer and Adobe Reader DC addon for it, Filemaker is probably irrelevant even though it's how we found the problem.

Hi There,

We looked into the issue; and seems something happened with Microsoft's latest update (version 2004). The same is reproducible with older version's of Adobe Reader too.

We now have a bug for the same; and we'll be working on it.
We'll update the comment-line as soon as we'll have a fix or any update for the same; either from our or Microsoft's end.

Thanks a lot for reporting the issue. In the meantime, one can download and print the PDF file using Reader too.

I had this same issue, but I was able to just now get it working again after I disabled the "Enable Protected Mode at startup" feature under Edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced)

That fixed. That option was disabled on our computers before the update, it seems it got enabled again after Windows 10 2004 completed.

Thanks so much.

For thouse, that this fix don't work. For some reason I need to do it twice. As first try don't save removed tick on "Enable Protected Mode at startup", after that worked on 2004 version of Win10.

Hi Swapnil,
All of our customers who updated on the 2004 functional release are unable to print now.  We are an PDM Software company (product data management) and the IE11 is an embedded function in our application to display and print PDF drawings derived from 3D models. Also turning off the Safe Mode in Adobe is not really an option since it opens vulnerabilies.
We would appreciate if anybody is looking into a fix and is there a bug ID?
Thanks,
Peter
