Protected View and Search function not working in Adobe Reader DC

I am running in a high security environment in which we are running the latest version of Adobe Reader DC (2018.011.20040) with Protected View set for All Files.  Our security policy requires us to run PDFs in Protected View.

When Protected View is enabled, the search function does not take me to the search result. I did some searching around and came up with the below link that this is a known issue when Protected View is enabled.

However, seems that turning Protected View off we are able to search and the search takes us to the results.

We have to have Protected View enabled and the link below does not mention any workarounds.

Is there any workarounds or a fix to this?

Here is the Quote from below link under Known Issues:

"Selecting a search hit (result) in the search pane does not take the user to the search hit location".

Hi Irenv,

As per statement above, what I understand is that when you use the search function in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, it does not take you to search result on the PDF. Am I correct?

If yes, you may try this workaround.

- Type in the word you are searching for, in the search window

- Click on search or press the Enter key on your keyboard.

- A "Results" column will appear in the search window.

- You may click on the file paths under the Results one by one to get the location of the word in the PDF

Check if that works for you.

You may also fill the feature request for the same over here Feature Request/Bug Report Form.

If you are referring to something else, please let us know.

Feel free to update the thread if you need any help.
