Read Out Loud feature not reading out loud

I'm having issues using the Read Out Loud feature in Adobe Acrobat Reader 10. I have enables the feature, and it seems to be working as it should, except there is no sound. My volume is up--dummy test number one complete--and I even attempted to repair the installation in case that was a problem, but it's still not working. Perhaps I should re-download the program as a whole and see if that fixes it? If anyone has a response, that would be great. Thank you!
