I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro on windows 10. I open my PDF file and when I select the read out loud option it tells me "warning empty page". The page is not empty, I can see the text, what am I doing wrong? do I need to convert the file in any way? It seems to be looking at it as a picture because when I try to edit it picks up the entire text as one.

Using Adobe Reader, Read Out Loud would not going to work as it doesn't recognize the text in a scanned document. Because Adobe Reader doesn't run OCR (optical character reorganization).

In order to make this work, you need to use the Adobe Acrobat DC application, which would help you making the scanned document editable and then you can use the "Read Out Loud" functionality.

Hope this helps.

Hello! This is not true for me: I have a PDF that is not a scanned document. Adobe recognizes words for highlighting, during the find feature, and it is editable, yet it still says "Warning, empty page."
