Reader constantly crashes

Recently I have had the adobe reader crash many times; today alone it crashed 3 times.  It has happened for no reason while viewing documents, or while making notes or signing a page.  Today it crashed 3x wile I tried to convert a pdf to an excel file.  What to do please?

The new version of Acrobat and Reader DC is available, please install the latest patch from help menu>select check for updates, reboot the machine and check the functionality.

You may also download and install the latest patch from DC Release Notes — Release Notes for Acrobat DC Products
