Reader Install Won't Complete?

Community Beginner ,

Latest Acrobat Reader won't complete it's installation saying there is a later version on the system.

We are attempting to reinstall the Reader after receiving notices that some files/modules were missing or corrupted.  Used Uninstall to remove corrupted version which was reported as complete.  Tried to use 3 version of Adobe Cleanup program which all reported the system was clean. However, each attempt to download and reinstall the Reader has ended with the Finish page saying there is a new version already installed.  Then the online notice is that the Reader failed to complete its installation.  Only option seems to be to "retry."  What happened to the option that used to exist to allow the installation to go ahead an install over whatever it thinks is still out there???  Download seems to complete since I can save and run the downloaded programs.  Using:

Windows Version 7

Firefox 62.0.3

Avast protection - latest auto update

JavaScript enabled via Firefox

NO Indication in Windows that there is any remnant of Reader on the system.  All other Adobe programs have also been uninstalled to try an eliminate whatever the bit is that's causing the incomplete install.

The Thing's name is: Adobe_2015_Web_WWMUI ????
