Reader unable to open files after update for v15.023.20053

After taking the latest patch for v15.023.20053 we have had multiple cases of 1) "no program available for that file type" errors. 2) Adobe Reader crashing when trying to print a PDF from the web. 3) "Adobe Reader program not found" errors.  For problem 1 we have tried the repair installation, which has worked on some machines.  If that doesn't work we've had to go and check off pdf files in default programs.  For problem number 2 We have tried turning off the protected mode in the security (enhanced) menu, this has worked, however, this is not best practice for our environment as we are trying to remain as secure as possible. I am trying an uninstall and re-install of the program for the third error.  Now, all of these fixes are fine for a few users but we have thousands we are dealing with in our environment. Do you have any other advice that may help us with these multiple issues?  It seems as though file various associations broke with this latest patch.  I'm hoping you can help or give me some guidance.
