This panel for fonts, B, U,i - etc has disappeared and I can't find how to get it back?
Nothing changed. Reader could never do that.

Do you mean no ability to underline, change font, etc? I was doing it yesterday morning, then lost the panel and couldn’t get it back? I edit pdf’s very seldom. Would you recommend what I need to buy to be able to do this?

All of these tools are available under Tools - Comment.

I have tried every single one of those options, and all the show/hide and just can’t get it. When I try to pull up properties, I get nothing, although that isn’t even on my menu. I know I sound inept, but I’m really not!!

Strange... Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing? Use the Camera icon when replying from the browser to attach it.

Really appreciate your patience! Took two screen shots of all the places I could think of to look. The properties box on the top screen has an X next to it and won’t let me open anything.
Hope these are helpful!

This are the properties of the text in a comment text box:

I’m not trying to do this in comments, but in the actual PDF. The properties you show are what I have had to make changes to the PDF I’m filling in as a form. One of the things I have to do is underline the name of a book I’m putting in the form. Can’t find the ability to do that, although I could do it a few days ago - from the right hand panel.

Under Edit PDF on the right there should be a tool called Edit Text & Images, or something like that. You should be able to use it to edit the static content of the file.

When I click on that I get a panel that says “learn more about Adobe Acrobat Pro DC” - not the edit tools I once got - at this point if that will let me do this, I’m happy to purchase, but it’s just strange that I can enter text but can’t change the properties, such as Bold and Underline. If you think purchasing this software will solve this problem, I’ll be VERY HAPPY to do so!

Yes, to be able to edit a PDF in such a way you need to have Acrobat, not the free Reader.

I’m very sorry to have wasted your time. I don’t know why this changed, but I’ll buy it. You are very patient, and pleasantly persistent.
