Save button no longer working

New Here ,
Apr 27, 2023 Apr 27, 2023

Using a Macbook Pro, have updated the software and this is not a protected document. The Save button is not available. and this is happening to any pdf I try to save. The Save As button is available but when I choose a folder, the window just closes and it doesn't save anywhere. I am using Acorbat Pro and it is not feeling very PRO right now! This is very frustrating. Please advise ASAP. This is a major issue.

Hi Carolyn296295493lwb,

Sorry about the delay in response.

Please confirm if you are using the Acrobat Reader or the Acrobat Pro application. You can check the application name at the top of the application window. You may also use the steps provided in the following document to check the version information of the application: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/identify-product-version.html

The Save button is generally disabled in Acrobat Reader when you open a PDF for viewing purposes. If you make any changes to the PDF, the Save button will be available after that.

However, you mentioned that the Save As option is not working correctly. Ensure that the application is updated to the latest version. Refer to the following help document for the latest updates: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader.html

Try once reinstalling the application using the steps suggested below:

- Remove the application and run the cleaner tool (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html).

- Remove any Adobe files from the trash.
- Reboot the machine
- Install Adobe Acrobat Pro from the following page: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html or Acrobat Reader: https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
