I have scanned documents as pdf with OCR. When I try to search the scanned document for a particular word using Mac Preview, the results are highlighted - indicating that the pdf document is searchable.

However, when I try to find that document in a file folder containing other PDF files using Advanced Search feature under Edit, I get

> Where would you like to search?

> All PDF documents in:

My selection - the specific file folder that I know contains the PDF file)

> What word or phrase would you like to search for?

My selection - I type the word that I used to search on that document after I scanned it to ensure it was highlighted and that confirmed to me that it is searchable

I click search button

Results - 0 documents

Why - 0 documents?

I tested the searchability of the document using Mac Preview.

However, the advanced search cannot find that document in a file folder.

Hi DG21,

Thank you for reaching out.

As you are using the advanced search feature, would you mind sharing the steps you do?

Share the screenshot or the screen recording of the workflow to understand it better.

Share the PDF you are trying to search using the advanced search feature.

Share the Acrobat and OS versions.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Meenakshi,

Also, I opened a pdf file that was searchable in Mac Preview in Adobe as follows:

> File

> Open - a specific file that I know is searchable in Mac Preview (I know because I did searches on the document)

> Find - searched using the same word that I was able find in the document using Mac Preview but no results show up when I do the search in Adobe.

Why can I do a search in a pdf file in Preview (Mac) but I can't do so in Adobe (it yields no results).
